A five-game Premier League slate kicks off at 10 AM ET on Saturday, with league leaders Manchester United featuring several players worthy of consideration for your DraftKings lineup. As always, check starting lineups as they are announced to be sure the players in your lineup are active. Now, let’s look at some studs and values at each position.
Heurelho Gomes – $5,300 – Watford – Gomes and Watford host newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion, who have yet to score and have managed just 11 shots total through their first two games. Gomes is coming off a 15 point showing at Bournemouth, and now back home against a less-than-threatening attack, he could very well top double digits for the second straight game.
Others to Consider – David de Gea (Manchester United; $6,000), Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace; $5,200)
Jonas Lossl – $4,400 – Huddersfield Town – Lossl is a big reason why newly promoted Huddersfield Town are tied at the top of the EPL table with Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion. He has a combined nine saves, two shutouts and 39 fantasy points (19.5 FPPG) through the first two games of the season, and another big outing at home against a hit-or-miss Southampton attack seems within reason.
Patrick van Aanholt – $5,300 – Crystal Palace – Van Aanholt followed up a 10 cross, 14 point home opener with six points at Liverpool last weekend, but is back home in a favorable matchup with Swansea. He’s never shy about attacking out of the back, and with Palace looking to score their first goal of
the season on Saturday, it could be Van Aanholt turning up with the big goal we’ve seen him score on occasion.
UPDATE: Jose Holebas is suspended for Saturday’s game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Jose Holebas – $5,700 – Watford – Holebas has topped double digit points in both games to start the season and is in a good spot to make it three straight at home against Brighton & Hove Albion. He boasts set piece upside as a defender, making him a good target in both cash games and tournaments.
Others to Consider – Daley Blind (Manchester United; $5,800), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton; $5,200)
Kiko Femenia – $4,500 – Watford – Femenia has filled in nicely for Daryl Janmaat and could be in line for another start with Janmaat still dealing with a hamstring injury. He hit nine points in his first start of the season, and he’ll likely flirt with double-digits again with a favorable home matchup against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Others to Consider – Chris Lowe (Huddersfield Town; $4,300), Aaron Cresswell (West Ham; $3,900), Javier Manquillo (Newcastle; $4,000)
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – $8,600 – Manchester United – Mkhitaryan has two assists in each of his two games to kick off the season and already looks to be thriving with new target man Romelu Lukaku. While he doesn’t pull in as many peripheral stats as some of the set-piece-taking midfielders in the pool, Mkhitaryan’s role in the Manchester United attack — playing underneath Lukaku — puts him in play with a lack of standout options at the position.
Others to Consider – Paul Pogba (Manchester United; $8,400), Andros Townsend (Crystal Palace; $7,800), Matt Ritchie (Newcastle; $6,200)
Tom Carroll – $3,700 – Swansea – With Gylfi Sigurdsson gone, it’s Tom Carroll shouldering the load on set pieces for Swansea. He made six crosses and had 10 points last week against Manchester United, and now he’s up against a less talented Crystal Palace side. Carroll doesn’t need to do much to hit value, and building a lineup around him opens up a lot of salary to spend up elsewhere.
Others to Consider – Tom Ince (Huddersfield Town; $4,800), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Crystal Palace; $4,300), Jonjo Shelvey (Newcastle; $4,200)
Romelu Lukaku – $11,200 – Manchester United – Lukaku’s off to a flying start at his new club, with three goals and 42 points in the first two matches of the season. The Red Devils as a unit are firing on all cylinders with a pair of 4-0 wins, and another strong result at home against Leicester is a real possibility. While he’s the most expensive forward on the slate, Lukaku jumps out as the forward most likely to score in gobs and make a heavy impact on the DraftKings leaderboards.
Others to Consider – Marcus Rashford (Manchester United; $8,100), Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace; $7,500), Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City; $7,400)
Richarlison – $5,000 – Watford – Richarlison had a big day in his first ever start for Watford. The Brazilian fired off six shots and scored a goal in a 2-0 win over Bournemouth, good for 21 fantasy points in 80 minutes of action. A home fixture against EPL newcomers Brighton & Hove Albion, who have allowed 14 shots in each of their two games, should give Richarlison ample opportunity to build on his breakout performance.
Others to Consider – Troy Deeney (Watford; $5,900 – if he starts), Nathan Redmond (Southampton; $5,500), Joselu (Newcastle; $5,000)
