Europa League action on DraftKings is split up into two slates this week and the latter of the two includes four games. The following article looks at those matches, picking out the two best fantasy players at each position. As always, you can hit me on Twitter @JamieHinksDK.
Alisson – ($5,800) – Roma – Roma are the best looking home side on this small two game slate and Alisson is coming off an 18-point performance in Roma’s last Europa League game, a 4-0 win over Astra Giurgiu. The Brazilian averages four saves per game in the Europa League meaning that, even without a clean sheet, he should reach a decent total.
Volkan Demirel – ($3,800) – Fenerbahce – United have failed to fully fire in the Europa League so far this season and face a Fenerbahce team yet to lose. The Turkish team are also on an unbeaten run of six games in all competitions and Demirel showed his importance to the side by making three saves in the 1-0 win over Feyenoord. At a price this low, he’s worth looking at.
Domenico Criscito – ($5,300) – Zenit – The experienced Italian international helped himself to a goal and an assist in Zenit’s last Europa League game, something that was worth 33 fantasy points. Criscito scored well for crosses (five), tackles won (four) and interceptions (four) in that game, and is playing for a side that has failed to lose this season. Surely Dundalk won’t be a match for that?!
Wilfred Ndidi – ($4,100) – Genk – Ndidi has hit double digit points in both Europa League games this season thanks in no small part to his 6.5 tackles won per game. Worth some 6.5 fantasy points per game (FPPG) on their own, Ndidi only needs to pick up a few points in other categories to top 10 fantasy points. On home soil, that won’t be too tricky.
Giuliano – ($8,600) – Zenit St Petersburg – Guiliano is currently match-up proof in the Europa League following the opening two fixtures where he had two goals, five assists and two shots per game. The result is 31.5 FPPG and that form is also present in the Russian Premier League where the Brazilian has six goals and three assists. In short, pick him and you won’t be disappointed.
Alex Pozuelo – ($6,200) – Genk – Pozuelo is on fire in all competitions this season, hitting 11 assists in a campaign that is just 16 games old. Three of those assists have come in the Europa League and it means he is averaging 17.25 FPPG. Next up is an Athletic Bilbao side depleted by injury. A stack of Pozuelo and Leon Bailey will be the path to some money.
Francesco Totti – ($8,100) – Roma – Totti is beginning to show that age is just a number after notching a goal or an assist on each of his last three games for the club he has been at for his whole career. That run includes a two-assist effort against Astra Giurgiu that resulted in 23 fantasy points. Luciano Spalletti has confirmed Totti will play from the start and he is the safest pick of any Roma player in a game they should win.
Leon Bailey – ($6,300) – Genk – Bailey has scored three times in this season’s competition thus far and is averaging a solid 32.4 FPPG. Those points have been evenly spread across both games as he is averaging six shots and 5.5 shots on goal per game plus 4.5 crosses per game. Get him in this week and watch the points roll in.
